County Chair Announces Retirement
The following is a statement from Davis County Democratic Party Chair Brett Garner:
Due to family and job situations that will require a move out of Davis County, I will not run for another term as chair of the Davis County Democratic Party.
I cannot describe in words the deep gratitude I for the blessings and experiences I received from the people of our county and party. I especially want to thank our executive committee, central committee, and our 2012 candidates for their friendship, which I hope will continue. It has been an amazing honor to serve as chair, and if there were a possibility of staying in the county, I would definitely make another run.
However, that does not appear likely, and as all our positions are volunteer and unpaid, I must prioritize my family and job requirements above it.
I do plan on remaining chair for the remainder of my term. As we prepare for our organizing convention in the spring, I look forward to many qualified Democrats seeking to serve as chair and the other executive offices. I welcome anyone considering seeking an office to talk about it with me, and I will fully support our next chair.

Brett you have done a fantastic job of energizing the Democrats in Davis County and you will be truly missed.
Best of luck in whatever comes next for you.
I just read your retirement letter and I wanted to tell you how much, as a Davis County Democrat, I appreciate your service as chair, as well as all the work you did before you term, and all you will do in the future. You are a special human being Chair Garner and I believe my prayers for your success have been and will continue to be answered.
With every best wish,
Rob Miller
